LEC constructed a 330 kV cable line from the Imanta substation to TEC-1, including an under-river crossing beneath the Daugava. The project involved engineering-geological surveys of the riverbed, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for cable ducts, installation of 330 kV power and optical cables, and construction of joint pits for both types of cable. The crossing itself – around 740 meters – was executed via trenchless HDD, presenting the most technically demanding part of the project. The total constructed cable route length was 2,200 meters.
