In cooperation with Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST) and Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH, we have successfully completed the construction of a state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) park in Rēzekne – the final infrastructure component of the Baltic power grid synchronization project.
The project encompassed design management, full-scale construction, equipment installation, the establishment of relay protection systems, and SCADA system integration. This initiative contributes to the modernization of Latvia’s energy infrastructure, strengthens grid reliability, and ensures more flexible electricity supply.
The opening ceremony in Rēzekne gathered the Minister for Climate and Energy of the Republic of Latvia, Kaspars Melnis, as well as project partners including the LEC team, Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH, and AST representatives. Participants from Riga Technical University, who contributed to the system management and business model development, also attended the event.
The ceremony included a site visit, ribbon-cutting, and the official closing celebration of the Baltic synchronization project at the Latgale Embassy GORS — symbolizing a major milestone in strengthening Latvia’s energy independence.
