Last weekend, on 27 June, around 150 LEC employees and their families gathered at the picturesque Debesu Bļoda guest house in Ogresgals to enjoy one of the most anticipated events of the summer – our annual Sports Games. This year’s theme was Slightly Unusual Sports Games.
Why slightly unusual? Because things are not always what they seem. This year, we stepped outside our comfort zones, embraced creativity, and looked at the world from a different perspective. Sport met elegance, seriousness met humor, and the familiar blended with the unexpected. Even Renārs Kaupers made a symbolic appearance as Armands Lozinskis – Lūsis.
This year’s concept transformed traditional sporting activities into creative, fun, and unconventional challenges. Participants tested their teamwork, agility, and sense of humor in activities such as towel bowling, wet dodgeball, hobby horsing, horse rally racing, memory games, the funny bicycle challenge, the electric field challenge, log sawing, and many other entertaining events. Winning was never the main goal – sharing great moments, laughing together, and daring to do something different were what truly mattered.
Although the day brought unusually tropical summer temperatures, neither the heat nor the sun could dampen the team’s enthusiasm. Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with positive energy, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles. Between activities, everyone had time to relax, catch up with colleagues, and simply enjoy being together.
The evening program continued with a delicious dinner, the awards ceremony, a prize raffle, and lively entertainment. The band Džentelmeņu špagats kept the dance floor full with an energetic live performance that had everyone celebrating late into the evening.
Once again, we proved that at LEC we know not only how to work with dedication and energy, but also how to celebrate, laugh, and enjoy time together as one team.
