For a long time, LEC’s daily operations relied on stacks of paper, printed plans, and verbal communication, which often led to chaotic execution. Potential errors could not only be costly but could also damage the company’s reputation. Today, the situation has significantly improved with the introduction of the work management system Fieldwire. For several years now, it has served as a structured backbone throughout the construction process, replacing disorder with organization.

In our company, the system was implemented gradually—over approximately a year—adapting it to the needs and specifics of each project. Initially, the implementation met with some resistance, especially from experienced colleagues. However, over time, even skeptics were convinced of the system’s benefits.

What is Fieldwire? It is a digital system for document flow and task management, designed to centralize all communication and assignments in one place. All project stakeholders can access up-to-date information in real-time and actively collaborate within the system. Each team, site manager, and project manager is equipped with a tablet, allowing them to work not only in the office but also directly on the construction site. The workday no longer starts with lining up for printed plans or permits—the necessary materials are structured, available, and current, resulting in fewer mistakes and faster workflows.

One of the system’s key features is photo documentation. Each phase of work is documented with images taken before, during, and after completion. These photos, including GPS data, are linked to a specific location on the technical plan, enabling anyone to verify the work at any time. This serves not only for quality control but also as evidence in case of disputes—such as years later when past work is questioned. This visual documentation also allows for precise performance analysis.

Task management has also become clear and disciplined. Teams are assigned specific tasks with the relevant documents and plans attached. Gone are the days when work was done and no one knew who did it or when. Each task is logged with its current status, allowing for better and more precise project oversight.

From a management and financial perspective, Fieldwire provides transparency and control. It enables tracking of completed volumes, preparation of handover reports, attachment of supporting photos, and more. Even years after a project’s completion, the system allows quick identification of responsible persons and completed work volumes.

In the area of occupational safety, the system ensures a digital overview of routine inspections, proper use of protective equipment and clothing, alcohol testing, and availability of first aid. When violations are identified, corrective tasks are immediately assigned and documented with photos. This allows for prompt action and a systemic approach to improving safety.

In large-scale projects with thousands of connections, task segmentation allows instant identification of completed and pending work.

Fieldwire is not just a tool—it represents a shift in mindset. From an uncontrollable process to a well-organized system, from chaos to order. It brings transparency, improves communication, strengthens warranty management, and enhances work safety. Future enhancements may include automatic plan synchronization with client cloud systems, BIM (Building Information Modeling) integration with 3D, and even virtual reality capabilities.

But even now, Fieldwire has become an essential part of modern and responsible work management—helping not only with planning and control but also with building more effective collaboration across all project phases. It’s a transition to a professional culture where every detail is in place, every action is justified, and every stakeholder is informed and accountable.
