To strengthen occupational safety practices and gain valuable insights from industry professionals, LEC representative Viktorija Kristina, Assistant to the Occupational Safety Specialist, participated at the end of March in an occupational safety best practice experience exchange visit to Latvenergo TEC-2, organized by the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia within the framework of the ESF+ project “Support for a Better and Longer Working Life.”

During the visit, participants had the opportunity to explore the working environment at TEC-2, tour the production facilities, and learn more about the occupational safety solutions implemented within the company.

Particularly valuable was the opportunity to discuss current occupational safety issues and confirm that many challenges are similar across different companies. Important topics discussed included employee involvement in reporting near-miss incidents, digitalization of occupational safety briefings and training, as well as effective monitoring of mandatory health checks.

It was also insightful to learn about Latvenergo’s experience in using digital solutions—both in organizing regular employee knowledge assessments and in providing convenient ways to report hazardous situations related to occupational safety.

This experience exchange visit provided practical insights and useful ideas that can be applied in our company as well, helping to further improve occupational safety processes and promote a safe working environment.
