This project involved replacing two 160-meter-long gates with eight modern gates. LEC performed project management, electrical and automation design, and installation. The primary challenge—replacing large gates with smaller ones while maintaining flow capacity—was resolved in the design phase, even improving performance. Gate structures were simplified, operational costs reduced, and environmental risks minimized through the use of modern equipment. An innovative solution involved conducting dismantling and installation from the Ķegums HPP bridge, rather than from the river.
