LEC carried out the reconstruction of the Kurzeme loop 110 kV transmission lines on the section Ventspils–Tume–Riga (Imanta), which was reinforced with a 330 kV line.
The total route length was approximately 214 km, with 711 poles installed, including 309 new foundations. Significant challenges included working across privately owned land and ensuring uninterrupted power supply throughout the project.
LEC developed and coordinated the technical design, engaged and informed landowners, and handled all issues. The work included reconstruction of intersecting communications, clearing of new routes, logging, foundation construction and pole erection, conductor installation, lightning protection, and OPGW deployment. The project also involved the preparation of switching schemes and contingency plans.
